About
George Peters is an artist who mainly works in acrylic on wood/canvas and traditional drawing materials on paper.

He currently lives, works and has previously studied visual art in Melbourne, Vic.

The work is strongly inspired by film, gaming and geek culture, George takes this and fuses it with his everyday thoughts, experiences and from the people in his life. Some of these people being strangers and others loved ones, he bases fantasy creatures on these people's characteristics and sometimes leaves them to wonder around in the, otherwise empty, forests and mountains translated to image from his thoughts and mind. The skies/backgrounds are often a main focal point, used to express feeling, mood and action. Occasionally the art does not come from the experiences of the artist, but from the simple enjoyment, a need to create.
Although the themes or scenarios that are happening in the works are often vaguely clear in the mind of the artist, it is not very clear for the viewers. This is intentional, George only sets up the stage, he gives you props, worlds, atmospheres and beings that act as hints of a story, but it's up to the viewer to create that story.

The intention being to immerse you with the stories that you imagine in the work.
